LOCATION
The Memorial Park will be in Seoul—in a place that provides convenient public access. The Preparation Committee preferred to build the memorial at Yongsan Park.
Yongsan Park is the location of the United States Armed Forces Korea Headquarters for 75 years, and the site is ready for transformed to be a park. The memorial can be a landmark and a present of Korean people to thank Americans and other Korean War participated nations for the sacrifices. The proposed site location is marked with red triangle mark on the Yongsan Park map.
The Korean War Veterans Memorial in the United States stands in the heart of Washington, DC, on the National Mall—directly in front of the Lincoln Memorial, one of the capital’s most visited sites—and serves as a solemn tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for Korea.
Supporters of this project are hopeful that the Korean government grants a location for the UN Memorial Park at such an equivalent location that is convenient not only to patriots but the public.
